Devils ready to make noise - Journal
Dec. 8 - Springbrook has a rare combination of size and speed.  The frontcourt includes 6-3 Colleen Orton, 5-11 Keisha Haddock and 5-10 Rachel Dumont . . .   Four-year starting point guard Jada Richardson is one of the county's quickest players.  She led the Blue Devils to the county summer league championship.  Joining Richardson at guard for coach Tonya Banks' squad are veterans Tiffany McLean and Lauren Friend . . .   Players to Watch - 5-foot-11 Keisha Haddock is one of the county's toughest rebounders and inside scorers.  Had 25 points to lead a 55-52 Devils' upset of Churchill.  Will team with Rachel Dumont and 6-foot-3 Colleen Orton to give Springbrook one of the most imposing frontcourts in the county.

Springbrook preview - Gazette
Dec. 3 - This season might be the best chance Springbrook has had at making the state tournament since its last appearance in 1993. . .  The Blue Devils have something they haven't had much recently: "Nine to 10 solid folks that can go in and contribute and not miss a beat," according to coach Tonya Banks. . .

It all starts with Jada Richardson. . . second on the team in scoring last year with a 13.3 points per game average, 4 steals and 4 assists per game. . . . "Jada's a great passer," Banks said. "She's starting to really come into her own. If we want her to get the ball to someone, she can get it to them."  Richardson would be wise to direct her passes often to forward Keisha Haddock. Last season, the 5-foot-11 Haddock took the county by storm, winning All-Gazette 2d team honors after leading Springbrook with 16.8 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks per game.

Haddock and Richardson have a strong supporting cast.  Tiffany McLean (3.6 points, 7 rebs. per game last year) and Lauren Friend (4.6 ppg, 3 rpg) return as starting guards. Six-foot-3 senior Colleen Orton returns as the team's center, battling guard/forward Rachel Dumont for the fifth starting position . . .  Friend's twin sister, Chantel, a guard, also returns to the team. Newcomers include point guard Lauren Dillon, guard Joia Daniels and versatile Taryn Christian.  With so many talented returnees and first-time varsity members, Banks knows this might be the Blue Devils' chance at a big year. more. . .
