The boys varsity basketball team closed out a fantastic 2003-04 season, with a 24 - 4 season record, tops in Montgomery County, a state regional championship, and ranked among the best teams in the Washington metro area from start to finish. Numerous varsity team and individual records were shattered.  The JV team also had a stellar season record of 17-1.

Folarin Campbell and Louis Brookins were both named to the MCPS Senior All-Star Team, the Jordan Capital Classic regional team, First Team All-County by the Montgomery Journal, Gazette, and Sentinel.  Folarin Campbell also was named First Team All-Met by the Washington Post and Player of the Year by the Journal, Gazette, and Sentinel, while Louis Brookins made Fourth Team All-Met. Louis Woodland made Honorable Mention All-County for the Journal.  Coach Keith Adams was named boys basketball coach of the year by the Journal, Gazette, and Sentinel, and head coach of the Jordan Capital Classic regional team.

Devils fall to Northwestern at buzzer,
barely eluding state title
Mar. 13 - UMD Comcast Center - With 12 seconds left in the game, Folarin Campbell hit a 3-point jumper from the left corner to force a tie.  But instead of going into overtime, Northwestern pushed downcourt and scored as time ran out - Northwester 61, Devils 59.  Campbell, who injured an ankle in the first quarter, was sidelined almost the entire 1st half as his team fell behind 11 points by halftime, 34 - 23.   After the half he led the Devils to a stirring comeback, setting up the dramatic finish.  Campbell scored 25 for the night, 18 in the 2d half. Springbrook beats Woodlawn 59 - 58
Mar. 11 - With 37 seconds on the clock, Folarin Campbell hit a free throw to put Springbrook up 59-58.  The Devils then held tough for a one-point victory over Woodlawn.  Campbell finished with 28 points, 7 rebounds.  Louis Brookins had 11 points, 7 rebounds.  Louis Woodland scored 5 points and took 3 charges.  Darryl Norris had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocked shots.  Akiel Russell added 5 points and David Brewster 4.  Totals 19 17-22 59.  Washington Post, Baltimore Sun

Springbrook goes to Final Four
Mar. 6 - Defense was the order of the day as Springbrook won the 4A West title by shutting down Magruder, 48 - 46, in front of a standing room only crowd.  Folarin Campbell scored a game high 19 points and had 4 rebounds 3 assists.  Louis Brookins had 8 points and 8 rebounds.  Louis Woodland had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists.  Akiel Russell added 6 points, David Brewster 5, Jamyle Michael 3, and Darryl Norris 1.  Totals 15 13-19 46.  Post, Journal, Gazette

Springbrook advance in play-Offs
Feb. 27 - Springbrook defeated Watkins Mill 61-53 in the first round of the State 4A West playoffs.  Folarin Campbell scored 29 points and had 8 steals.  Louis Brookins had 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  Darryl Norris had 4 assists and Louis Woodland 5 blocked shots. Journal

Feb. 24 - Louis Brookins and Folarin Campbell combined for 59 points, as the Devils closed out the regular season with a record of 19 - 3.  Campbell scored 30, Brookins 29.  Louis Woodland added 13, David Brewster 7, Akiel Russell 5, Darryl Norris 4, Marc Dawes 1, Darryl Kornegay 1. Totals 32 19-29 90. 

Devils over Gaithersburg, 80 - 62
Feb. 20 - Folarin Campbell scored 23 points and Louis Brookins had 20 points and 6 rebounds as the Devils overpowered Gaithersburg.  Darryl Norris had 5 points and a career high 10 assists and David Brewster scored a career high 15 points.  Akiel Russell added 8, Will Cotton 2, Marc Dawes 2, Carl Genephat 2, Louis Woodland 2, and Darryl Kornegay 1.  Totals 24 22-25 80.

Feb. 17 - Louis Brookins led the Devils with 29 points and 8 rebounds.  Folarin Campbell had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.  Darryl Norris had 5 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Louis Woodland added 9 points, Jamyle Michael 5, Darryl Kornegay 2, and Akiel Russell 2.  Totals 24 20-23 71. 

Devils defeat Watkins Mill, 60 - 56
Feb. 13 - Folarin Campbell had 23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals to lead the Devils over Watkins Mill.  Louis Brookins had 14 points, 10 rebounds,  6 assists.  Darryl Norris had added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists,  Louis Woodland 8 points and 7 rebounds, Darryl Kornegay 2 points, David Brewster 1, and Akiel Russell 1.  Totals 23 9-16 60.  Gazette

Feb. 11 - Folarin Campbell's 37 points was not enough as Blake proved again to be a worthy nemisis.  Akiel Russell added 12 points, David Brewster 11, Louis  Brookins 10, Louis Woodland 6, Jamyle Michael 2, and Darryl Norris 2.  Totals 22 29-35 80.

Feb. 4 -  Louis Brookins had an outstanding game, scoring 27 points and rejecting 4 shots.  Folarin Campbell had 28 points, 7 assists, and 7 steals.  Darryl Norris had 8 points and 8 assists, Louis Woodland 10 points, Darryl Kornegay 2, Carl Genephat 1.  The Devils broke the school record for made 3 pointers in a game with 10.

Devils lose to Magruder, 64 - 67

Jan. 14 - After trailing by 17 during the 2d quarter, Springbrook battled back to a 52-51 lead at the end of the 3d.  But Blake used a 7-0 run to build a late 6-point lead.  Folarin Campbell and Lois Brookins scored 27 and 25 points to lead the Devils.  Post, Journal

Dec. 29-30 - Springbrook hosted Northwest and Wilson high schools and won both games.  In the first game, the Blue Devils routed Northwest 103-81.  In the final round, the Devils overpowered Wilson, 75-58.

Dec. 22 - Folarin Campbell broke the team's single game scoring record by scoring 46 points.  He also tied the mark for most 3 pointers in a game with 7.  Louis Brookins had 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Will Cotton had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.  Michael scored 7, Russell 7, Brewster 5, Farrow 2, and Norris 2.  Gazette

Dec. 3 - Folarin Campbell is coming off one of the most dominating seasons in recent memory.
